Diablo III gets a release date

After a few delays Blizzard has finally given Diablo III a release date, May 15. This release date will apply to the majority of countries it is releasing to. The exception is that Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Brazil will be able to buy the digital download May 15 but will have to wait until June 7th for a boxed retail copy.

There will be a standard and collector’s edition, the standard will likely go for $60 and the collector’s edition will go for $100 and only be available in stores due to its physical nature such as an art book, USB drive and so on.

Anyone who signed up for the World of Warcraft annual subscription will received a free downloadable copy of Diablo III and a WoW mount and access to the Mists of Pandora beta.

Awesome. Kind of wish I had done the WoW subscription thing but not really. I have no intention of playing that game ever again.

Can’t wait for this, so many nights in college were claimed by Diablo 2. I am just hoping that my laptop can handle it until I build my gaming rig. Hopefully this will be a standalone game and not broken up as with StarCraft 2.
