Dump Bin Diving: Justice Served!
Last July I took a chance on a 3DS title on a whim. I was looking for something in the eShop to download and came across Mighty Switch Force, a puzzle platformer. A game developed by WayForward, it was released on the 3DS back in December of 2011. The game has you starting each incident as cyborg officer Patricia Wagon, making your way through out the level tracking down escaped female convicts. After collecting all the convicts you move to the goal an are taken away by your robotic help Corporal Gendarmor. The “feature” aspect is the block puzzles. By hitting the shoulder buttons you switch blocks in and out of the 3-D space. This can lead to jumping puzzles that require precision timing to know when you are out of harms way to activate other block. Their are blocks that will fire Patricia in one of four directions as well. These blocks can be used to fire bomb enemies, and others, to solve some of the platforming puzzles. The game was redrawn and re-released on the Wii U as the Hyper Drive Edition. I have the game on both the 3DS and Wii U and both are great titles whether your looking for something to play on the Wii U until Monster Hunter, or if you need a good 3DS game that won’t break the bank. It reminded me a a lot of the platforming elements in Mega Man X, thats why I love it so much. If I had to choose which version to get, well I guess it would just depend on which system you have. The 3DS version does sport some nifty 3-D effect and a lower difficulty than it’s HD counterpart. On the flip side, the newly redrawn visuals look great on the TV or GamePad and the difficulty has been ramped up but there is a certain charm gone with the loss of the 3-D effect. Either which way you buy the game you can’t loose.
Is it worth it: Yes, either version you buy you will be happy with. The game is a little on the short side but there are par times to beat and in the Wii U version, you have people sharing time in the Miiverse.
Mighty Switch Force – 3DS – $5.99
Mighty Switch Force Hyper Drive Edition – Wii U – $9.99
Dump Bin Diving is posted every Friday. It is a look at games that are with in a $20 budget, that may or may not be worth your time and hard earned money. The games maybe downloadable or disc based.

The first trailer is from the 3DS version, the second is the Hyper Drive, Wii U version. I thought I would give you a good comparison between the versions. All the screen shots are from the 3DS.
