I Heart Zombies…..

Zombies have been around for decades, hunting down human flesh in movies and video games in light of drama and for laughs. Zombies have brought people together in front of movie screens, video game controllers, and haunted houses. Zombies have peeked an interest in a casual gamer and brought her more into the great light of gaming.

When in doubt, know your way out…..

Zombieland, was a hit. It was a great zombie satire on a small budget with a great cast. But this movie would peak the interest of a casual gamer, for more of the hoard. Insert Left 4 Dead. A game developed by Turtle Rock Studios before Valve purchased them, you would play as one of four survivors making your way through the zombie hoard from safe house to safe house. Only to grab a controller on occasion, the casual gamer would more enjoy watching the game from a spectators view. With its B-movie atmosphere, griping characters, its ingenious A.I. director, the game would become a hit spawning DLC and a sequel. This casual gamer would continue to watch from the sidelines and enjoy the slaughter of the zombie hoard, until as of late.

Ellis and Keith did everything together….

This causal gamer I speak of is my girlfriend Holly. I hate the use the term “casual” gamer, because it doesn’t matter if you play Farmville, or Halo, Bejeweled, or Battlefield, Mario Kart, or Need for Speed; we are all gamers, and should be proud that fact. She loves the DS, playing games such as Style Savvy, various Pop Cap games (Plants vs. Zombies, Bejeweled Twist, and Feeding Frenzy), and Professor Layton. She has tried her hand at Left for Dead and Halo but the twin stick controls are something she still hasn’t become accustomed to, but has the desire to learn. As many couples try to play games together and enjoy this great form of entertainment there are a few games that are great as starters, Left for Dead being one I would recommend. Borderlands and Portal are two other games that I would also recommend but we aren’t giving those away are we. So if this gives anyone the incentive besides we are giving away a great game, this could be a potential game to get someone that is not that involved with games into them. Go register, like the site, comment and win; or we will through some boomer bile on you and watch the running horde.

Zombies make almost any story or game awesome. My mom has been trying to “girlify” me since I was little and Pride and Predjudice is one of those silly movies she wants me to love. However, not even adding zombies to that book could hold my interest. =(

Zombies may tear our brains apart, but they sure can bring us together when we play Co-Op games together against them. 😀
