Kid Icarus: Uprising impressions and deals

Nintendo launched Kid Icarus: Uprising yesterday, a game for the 3DS that was positioned to be a launch title for the 3DS but went through a series of delays. Good news though it was well worth the delays, I will have our final review here shortly but you can pick up this game today at Best Buy for $29.99. The deal started yesterday and will end tonight so hurry and grab this game, typical retail is set at $39.99. I have only been playing the single player so far but from that stand point alone it is worth your time and money. The visuals are fantastic, the witty dialogue was a big surprise, and the game is action packed with great on-rail segments, and the occasional ground combat missions. The only downfall to this point is the controls do take some time to get use to, the small stand the game comes with helps since you will be using the circle pad and touch screen in conjunction. Oh and did I mention the game was developed by Project Sora and famed designer Masahiro Sakurai, part of the team that was behind Super Smash Brothers franchise!  Hurry! Grab the game and help Pit stop Medusa in a sequel that was 21 years in the making.

This game is big. Freaking HUGE, considering its genre. Not really sure where to begin, in fact. I believe I’ll leave out everything concerning the storyline, except for this little tidbit: if you are the kind of person who can’t stand constant banter while playing, there’s an option to turn it off. However, I LIKE the constant banter, it breaks the fourth wall constantly and doesn’t take itself seriously, allowing cheesy lines to just work.

Have your say
