Nintendo eShop Update!

For pretty much all of January, outside of a ZombiU demo, the Wii U eShop has been a ghost town. There is a bonus on there this week though; Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition is on sale for $6.99 and Little Inferno is on sale for $9.99. I have Mighty Switch Force for the 3DS and it is wonderful; timing puzzles and 2-D platforming are some of my favorite gameplay mechanics, next to physics. On the 3DS we get what I promised last week with the Fire Emblem Awaking demo. The demo is the big thing on that side of the eShop as well, Tokio Crash Mobs and the VC release of Kirby Star Stacker round out the content. Info below on all the downloadable titles. Just another reminder over at Club Nintendo, Tetris (VC 3DS) and Snowpack Park (Wiiware) are available for 150 coins; and Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream (VC 3DS) and Mario Kart 64 (Wii VC) are available for 200 coins apiece. I already have the Fire Emblem demo queued up for download and I may have to snag Might Switch Force at that price, I have Trine 2 as well to keep my Wii U from collecting dust.

“Fire Emblem Awakening – Demo Version – Lead an army of knights, mages, archers and other classes into battle to defend a fantasy world teetering on the brink of war. Your army, which grows as the game’s epic story progresses, is composed of a brave group of memorable characters with unique abilities. Just plan your attacks carefully – the lives of your soldiers and the future of the world depend on it. The full version of Fire Emblem Awakening launches exclusively on Nintendo 3DS on Feb. 4.

Tokyo Crash Mobs – You need fast reflexes and an eye for strategy to succeed in this puzzle game. In Tokyo Crash Mobs, you must toss bystanders into lines of people, grouping three or more who wear the same color to make them disappear. Eliminate the lines as fast as you can to win. With two modes, this game has you covered, whether you’re looking for quick play sessions or endurance challenges.

Kirby’s Star Stacker – Join Kirby as he stacks falling stars with help from his friends Rick the Hamster, Kine the Sunfish and Coo the Owl. But watch out for King Dedede, as he will try to stop you. With a few quick moves and some well-timed strategy, you can quickly outwit him and move on to the next challenging level. Kirby’s Star Stacker was originally released for Game Boy in 1997.”
