Pokemon X and Pokemon Y hits Worldwide October 2013!
Early this morning Nintendo announced something huge that should send 3DS’s flying off store shelves, the next generation of Pokémon games. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will feature new starter Pokémon, a brand new 3D world, and some impressive visuals for a Pokémon title. Both X and Y will release worldwide October of this year. This is the first set of core Pokémon games that will not have a color reference in the title. At least they have some where to go with a third gap game, Pokémon Z. Black and White received number sequels instead of gaining a third gap game like the previous generations. The new starter grass type, Chespin has caught my eye and would be the first grass starter I have used since Chikorita in Gold and Silver. What has me even more excited for these titles is the opportunity spot and street pass present to trading Pokémon. Have a few extras you would like to trade? Put them up on a trade block for street pass and when you walk by another player you trade via roulette style. It could make for some interesting finds. You could also trade the same way via spot pass like the 3D Pokedex unlocks Pokémon. There are plenty of opportunities for use of the 3DS hardware outside of the 3D. Come October will you be capturing, training, and trading to be the best, like no one ever was?
