Pokemon x & y will have online storage, mega evolution’s of classic starters
Nintendo held a special Nintendo Direct this morning focusing on one title in particular, Pokemon X & Y. There is a list of new features that are going into this new generation of Pokemon that we have not seen before. First and foremost, there will be a service called Pokemon Bank. Pokemon Bank will net you 100 boxes of additional storage, that is 3,000 Pokemon in total. The service will have a secondary application called Poke Transporter, which will allow you to transport Pokemon from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 to the Pokemon Bank. After they have been transferred to the bank they can then be downloaded into X &Y. The service will launch in Japan this December with no North American date yet announced, but I do foresee this coming to our shores. The service in Japan will have a yearly fee of 500 yen/$5, and I would expect this to carry over here as well. Announced at the beginning of last month, certain Pokemon will have the chance to mega evolve past their current limits. Today we have learned that the original starter Pokemon from Blue and Red, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander; will be in the title and will have a mega evolution. Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard, and Mega Blastoise look great and can be seen in the gallery below. There will be two requirements that need to be fulfilled for your Pokemon to procure this new evolution type and only certain ones can be evolved. We are also getting a special edition blue and red 3DS XL that will be released in North America and Europe on September 27th, check out the pictures in the gallery below. Pokemon X & Y will launch in North America on October 12th. You can catch the Nintendo Direct in its entirety below.
