Raven Software Releases Jedi Knight Source Code
In an article on Wired, Raven Software has released the source code for Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Both Jedi titles were developed by Raven and LucasArts, and published by Activision before they went all milking yearly happy. I have two copies of Jedi Outcast, one on the PC and one on the GameCube. I did have a copy of Academy but have missed placed it in my travels. Note that by downloading the code, it does not give you the game. There are more assets to a game then just code, but by having the code, you’re seeing the inner workings of a game and it’s really helpful to programmers. Head over to site Wired provided, sourceforge , to look at and download the two source codes. It is some interesting stuff, for most people who play games or media probably don’t realize how a game or program works, or what coding even looks like. I took basic, visual, and C++ in high school and have been learning some HTML here and there by working for the site. Thanks to Joe for the article link, check it out and thank you Raven for making some of the best Star Wars games out there.
