Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Gets New Characters!

This November Capcom will re-release Marvel vs. Capcom 3 with twelve new characters. Not all have been revealed but four have been announced. The four are Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Firebrand, and yes finally Strider. They are calling this re-release “Ultimate” Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The updated version will also have a few new modes, one of which being spectator mode. It will retail for 39.99 when it hits shelves in November. The only downside is so far is there is no word on whether you must purchase this new version to get all the new goodies or if you already have MVC3 you can just download the update for a smaller price. I am guessing they will have a disc version as well as a downloadable version much like Red Dead Redemption did with Undead Nightmare.

What characters are you hoping for?

Map Pack for Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach will get its first downloadable content on November 30th. “Noble Pack”, as it’s being called, will contain 3 new maps and new achievements worth 250 gamerscore points. Micrsoft gave a little insight to the upcoming maps.

Tempest – “Though we may never fully understand these devices, it is not our nature to leave ancient stones unturned.” This abandoned shoreline facility bends both sea and sky to an unnatural purpose, but the ground itself has quickly become another all too familiar battlefield. Though the two opposing symmetrical bases may never reveal their ancient purpose, both now offer makeshift shelter and access to strategic routes perfectly suited for small and large scale skirmishes alike. Tempest supports 8 – 16 players and offers a variety of modes including Free for All, Team Slayer, Team Objective and Big Team Battle. Tempest also provides players with a huge Forge palette, allowing them to create new custom map variants that can be shared with the community-at-large.

Anchor 9 – “Orbital dockyards provide rapid refueling and repairs for a variety of UNSC vessels.” Within the confines of this low orbit dry-dock, UNSC craft undergo rapid repair and rearmament in support of the enduring war effort. But for the small squads of infantry who now fight over the mirrored interior hallways and open central hangar bay, this platform no longer provides any safe harbor – whether the close quarters combat is occurring inside or out of its artificial gravitational field. Anchor 9 allows 2–8 players to face off in game variants including Free for All, Team Slayer and Team Objective.

Breakpoint –ONI officials believe the data buried within this artifact is key to our survival.” Atop this icy precipice, the Invasion continues. These modular archaeological labs were never intended to withstand such a large scale onslaught of Covenant military power, but the information being extracted here may prove vital to humanity’s survival. In response to the imminent Covenant threat, UNSC ground and air assets have been deployed to bolster entrenched Spartan countermeasures. This dig site must yield salvation, or it will become a grave. Breakpoint offers multiplayer mayhem for 8–16 players, and supports the Invasion and Big Team Battle game variants.

Left 4 Dead 2 “The Passing” Released Today

Left 4 Dead 2 “The Passing” was released today.  Below are the details about the new addon.

The first game add-on for Left 4 Dead 2 brings the original Left 4 Dead (L4D1) Survivors down south for a meeting with the L4D2 cast, while delivering new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative gameplay for the PC and Xbox 360.

The Passing also introduces a series of weekly game mode events dubbed “Mutations.” These week-long runs of new gameplay modes range from “Realism Versus” mode to “Chainsaw Massacre,” which gives all players chainsaws with an unlimited supply of gasoline. There are over 20 Mutations planned, each playable on all L4D2 Campaigns. Mutations are exclusively available to owners of “The Passing” DLC.

In addition, “The Passing” offers a new co-operative challenge mode of play, support for infected bot play in Versus, a new “uncommon common” zombie class (the fallen survivor), melee weapon (golf club), and firearm (M-60).”

This addon is of course free for the owners of the PC version of the game.  If you don’t own the PC version it will cost you 560 microsoft points on Xbox Live.  This is a fairly large download.  It is over 1gb so plan a little time to download the addon.

Modern Warfare 2 : The Stimulus Package DLC

The Real Stimulus Package for ppl that are not Bank Dick CEO’s.  No matter ur feeling about this franchise, or the “special” AI enemies have in the campaign (walking in open to get shot) or any of the Infinity Ward, Activision BS, u cannot deny the great success of this game.  []

To quote my best friends at “On March 16, 2010, Activision confirmed that the game had sold over 14 million copies worldwide, making it the second best-selling game of all time in the UK, and third best-selling game of all time in the U.S.”  Yea, take that…

This sums it up:

Downloadable content

Activision has announced that two downloadable map packs will be released for Modern Warfare 2. At E3 2009, Microsoft stated that these map packs would first be made available for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live before they would be released for other platforms. Robert Bowling has stated that the community response to the game and the first two downloadable map packs would be used in designing other potential map packs. The first map pack, the “Stimulus Package”, is set to release on March 30, 2010 for Xbox Live at a cost of 1200 MSP. It will then be available for the PlayStation 3 and PC later on in the year. The pack contains five maps: reincarnations of the Crash and Overgrown maps from Call of Duty 4, and three new maps: Bailout, a multi-level apartment complex; Storm, an industrial park littered with heavy machinery; and Salvage, an abandoned car junkyard in the middle of the snow.”
