Xbox Live Update: The Knife, The ruf, and The Arcade Title

This week sees a bevy of add-ons as well as another clean out sale on Arcade titles. This week we get The Knife of Dunwall add-on for Dishonored. The Knife of Dunwall gives a different perspective on the story giving you control of Daud, the man who assassinated the Empress. The story runs parallel to that of Corvo’s, the man framed for the assassination. The Knife of Dunwall will run you 800MP. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 receives it’s second add-on in the form of the Uprising map pack. The map pack offers 4 maps (3 new ones, 1 recycled) and the Mob of Dead Zombie expansion. There is notable talent that they put into the Mob of the Dead with the likes of Michael Madsen and Ray Liotta; but the zombie mode it Treyarch’s entries has been, I am looking for a good metaphor, lackluster. It works, but is a poor attempt at a horde mode and a poor zombie game. If you want a good horde mode I recommend Gears of War 3, Halo: ODST, Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 & 2, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier just to name a few. If you want a zombie game there is The Walking Dead (the Taletell title), Dead Rising (any of them), Red Dead Redemption: Nightmare, and the elephant in the room, Left 4 Dead. Enough ranting though, CoD: Black Ops 2 Uprising will run you 1200MP and is included for season pass holders. Forza Horizon is getting a much needed update with the 1000 Club expansion. The 1000 Club will add 1000 new challenges around the map of Horizon as well as to new vehicles; the 1995 RUF CTR2 and the 1956 Ford F100. The 1000 Challenge pack  is a free download to all. Just a reminder, Injustice: Gods Among Us is out today and the season pass can be had for 1200MP. The season pass includes 4 DLC characters to be added later and the Flashpoint skin pack. No, I am not getting paid to promote the title, I am just excited and a huge fan of NetherRealm Studios. There is plenty in the Deal of Week and one of my all-time favorite titles is on sale for a paltry $2.25 (200MP), Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. There are plenty of other good titles on sale as well, here is the list:

I Am Alive 480 (60% off)
Gotham City Impostors 600 (50% off)
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 200 (75% off)
Warhammer® 40,000®: Kill Team™ 320 (60% off)
Lara Croft The Guardian of Light 600 (50% off)
HELL YEAH! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit 480 (60% off)
Bionic Commando Rearmed 320 (60% off)
Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 480 (60% off)
Black Knight Sword 400 (50% off)

Gotham City Imposters is a good price, a lot of fun, and still has an active community. Warhammer Kill Team is a great twin stick shooter and was worth the 800MP I paid for it. The big deal I am going to hype over is Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2. The pinnacle of twin stick shooters; this game looks fantastic, plays great, and has a rocking soundtrack. If you have an Xbox 360 and don’t have this, the time to act is now. I play this game with headphones on, the volume cranked to 11, and I lose myself and enjoy gaming at it’s simplest form. It’s a shame Activision shut down Bizarre Creations and we couldn’t get a third entry. I’ll quit being chatty today and leave you with my favorite track from Evolved 2 just to entice you even more to pick it up. Enjoy!

Have your say
